Bitter with the Swede

Many people take comfort in matching their socks. I’m not that guy.

I think the best way to describe what I do is controlled chaos. There is order but this may not be readily apparent to viewers. I use collage, paint and found objects to create canvases that evoke feelings of nostalgia, pain, humor, melancholia and joy. Often there is an element of social commentary but not always.

I work quickly to tap into the subconscious as much as possible. So my work is a combination of intentional placement and subconscious meanings. I follow where the images and mood take me. Life is too short to play by the rules.
